Customer Reviews

I've used Dragon on Windows but replaced my computer with a Mac and so bought the latest version of Dragon.
I was so full of hope but clearly we are a number of years away from being able to happily dictate without problem!
Despite training for hours and hours, Dragon still chooses to default to certain spellings or mishears me to the point of it being ludicrous. I would say I have to close it down at least twice a day when it starts to play up or slows down and I have to wait 10 seconds or so before it types out what I've said. Personally, manual typing is much faster but I'm obliged to use Dragon because I have RSI.
Good points: when working well, it's fast and it's great to be able to dictate and send e-mails without moving a muscle. It uses apostrophes correctly.
Bad points: it is sometimes almost starts typing backwards, deleting words. It needs rebooting regularly. It simply refuses to recognise words that I have put in the vocabulary and have trained. Despite the fact that I speak extremely clearly, it frequently uses words that I haven't dictated.
I'd love to know if there is a way to navigate round websites as once I got into a website, I then have to revert to using the mouse to go to the various windows in that website

This is a very effective piece of software and for someone like me who transcribes a lot of recorded interviews it's much faster and leaves me RSI free. It has some annoying quirks - for example if I say 'coffee' it always comes up with 'Coffey'. But these are quite rare. It actually loses a star because of the mic headset. The mic can sometimes hear the recording through the headphones, which plays havoc with the transcription process. So I have to use a separate set of headphones. Having said that, I recommend it highly. For me, the ROI was fast and it paid for itself within a few uses.
