Customer Reviews
After purchasing the download version of Autoroute 2011, I was keen to install it as I have been using older version for quite a few years, ending with Autoroute 2010. At first things seemed to go well, I downloaded the files from Microsoft Store (Not Amazon)having downloaded the 3 files I started the installation routine, all files were extracted ok, Microsoft Access 2010 Engine was installed (Not sure why as I have Office Pro 2010 already on)Then came Dot Net 4 or whatever, then the routine stops in its tracks with the meassage "One of the prerequisite componants failed to install, Setup will now exit" You click ok and thats the end of that. I tried various things, no way was it going to install. After quite a few attempts, phone calls, emails, chats to Micro$oft tech support, nothing was fixed. Then I started searching the internet, it comes about that there is a well know problem with Autoroute 2011 and its incompatibilty with Windows 7 Pro SP1, though by all accounts, it does not affect all computers, results are varied, but the problem is widely known. It affected both my machines
As a result, I have requested a refund, as I was not able to get my version running with Microsofts help. I have found a work around that someone told me about, It worked, but I tried it in trial mode, and did not use my registration key as that would stop my refund, and I have not bothered with it until Microsoft issue a fix. I am still awaiting a refund, but if a fix is found first, I will register the product, assuming a fix is found before my 60 day trial is up. For what its worth, it looks and feels no different to Autoroute 2010, and as such I am not all that bothered about it and truths known, I would probably rather have my refund and go back to AR 2010.
If I were you, I would download the free trial first, make your mind up before parting with you cash.

Microsoft's Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 broke its mapping products (Autoroute and Streets and Tips). I have been an Autoroute user for years and years and have been very happy with it. I purchased Autoroute 2011 in January 2011 but when Win 7 Service pack 1 came down a few months later it broke it (Hangs at the splash screen - see <... ). They basically broke in Q1 2011 but it is still broken and no signs of a fix. So my recommednation is DON'T BUY IT if you are on Windows 7 or are planning to upgrade because as soon as SP1 downloads it will break. I just got my money back from Microsoft. If you must consider it then check out the knowledge base first 2618410 first - MS told me they would publish the fix there. That was months ago, no fix yet!
