We are new gardeners who have procrastinated for years over what to plant. The Weatherstaff PlantingPlanner has helped to provide us with the motivation and guidance to get planting. The planner takes into account your soil type and amount of rain and sun that is typical for your garden. You can also input the style of garden that you would like (eg. cottage garden or wildlife), preferred colour scheme and shape of border. It then produces a suggested plan and includes photographs and very informative background info. on each plant. After a few minutes of using this software my knowledge of plants had quadrupled (admittedly it wasn't very impressive to start with). This is a really simple to use product that provides lots of useful background information to help you plan your planting. It will be an ideal Christmas present for quite a few people in my family.
